Juan Arache is an artist whose medium is cake decoration. He has more than 25 years of experience in his art, and has won several competitions for his work, winning numerous first prizes and gold medals for his artistry. In 2008, Arache received the Best Bridal Cake Design Award from the Societe Culinaire Philanthropique. Other significant accolades include the Gold Medal given by the New York Guild of Chefs, as well as three first prizes gleaned for cake decorating with the last decade.

In Year, Arache founded the Sugar Room, his own cake-decoration school and cake store. He has designed cakes for celebrities and dignitaries, including the President of the Dominican Republic Leonel Fernandez, Denis Leary, star of the TV show Rescue Me, and Latin singer José José, Maria Carey video heart breaker. He made cakes for a wedding show held by Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Michael C. Fina and Swarovski. Arache has worked for some of the best pastry shops in New York, including the Cup Cake Café and the Little Pie Company. Additionally, his work has been seen on channel1 news, and in Al Despertar, Despierta America, Primera Edicion .

Arache’s unique highly skilled technical level and his superior aesthetic enabled him to achieve high honors early in his career.

His work has been featured in The Daily News, Manhattan Bride, Modern Bride, Vanidades Magazine, and Diario la Prensa here in New York, and was the subject of several feature articles in Listin Diario in his native Dominican Republic.
